Asking for help is hard for a lot of people, especially the ones who have spent years being the helper. If a project around your home has been sitting undone because you cannot get to it on your own, this is what reaching out actually looks like. It is simpler than you think.
Step one: decide if it fits
We take on hands-on work around the home. Yard cleanup, fencing, painting, drywall, simple plumbing and door fixes, hauling, and general labor. The rough test is this. If it needs tools, a few sets of hands, and about a day of work, it is probably something we can do.
We prioritize single parents, elderly neighbors, people with disabilities, and community members who genuinely do not have the resources or ability to get it done themselves. You do not need to make a case for yourself. If it is real, it counts.
Step two: fill out the request
Head to the Request Help page and submit the form. You will give us your name, a way to reach you, where the project is, and a short description of what needs doing. A couple of photos help if you have them, but they are not required.
If you are reaching out on behalf of someone else, just say so in the form. Nominating a neighbor is one of the most common ways a project reaches us, and it is often the only way a proud person ever gets the help they needed.
Step three: we talk it through
Once your request is in, someone from No King Bee follows up. We will ask a few questions, get a clearer picture of the work, and figure out the materials and the number of hands it will take. This is also where you get to ask us anything.
Step four: we show up
Projects run one Saturday a month, so we will get your project on the calendar and confirm the date with you ahead of time. On the day, the crew arrives with tools and materials and gets it done. Most projects wrap in a single day.
That is the whole process. No fees, no fine print, no strings. If you have been carrying something you cannot lift alone, send us the request and let a crew take it off your plate.
